A new milestone in handball at the VELUX EHF FINAL4 2019

Munich – 24 July 2019

After the successful cooperation at the Champions League VELUX EHF FINAL4 2018, EHF and KINEXON decided to take it up a notch for this years’ FINAL4! During all four games, not only the SELECT iBall was in use again but also all players were tracked via a small sensor integrated into their jerseys.

For the first time in the history of the EHF competitions fans, coaches and players could see facts like running distance, airtime, fastest sprints or highest jumps of the players. In addition, the iBall collected information such as ball speed, automatic throw and pass recognition or position of the throw.

The data was shown on the video cube in the LANXESS arena, on social media channels, on TV and in the official VELUX EHF FINAL4 app.
