European Handball Federation and KINEXON Sports Extend Partnership Until 2028 and Agree on Ambitious Development Roadmap

Munich, Janu­ary XX, 2025 — The Euro­pean Hand­ball Fede­ra­ti­on (EHF) and KIN­EXON Sports are thril­led to announ­ce the exten­si­on of their long-term part­ner­ship for an addi­tio­nal six EURO tour­na­ments. The new agree­ment, effec­ti­ve from 2025 to 2028, covers the inte­gra­ti­on of KIN­EXON real-time play­er and ball track­ing tech­no­lo­gy at the Men’s EHF EURO 2026 and 2028, as well as the Women’s EHF EURO 2026 and 2028. The part­ner­ship also includes a com­mon deve­lo­p­ment road­map to enhan­ce to pro­duct of Euro­pean Hand­ball and to bring the Expe­ri­ence for all stake­hol­ders to the next level.

Sin­ce 2020, KIN­EXON Sports track­ing tech­no­lo­gy has been inte­gral part of all EHF EURO matches to cap­tu­re, mea­su­re, and ana­ly­ze the real-time move­ments and posi­ti­ons of play­ers and of the offi­ci­al iBall of SEL­ECT. This will now con­ti­nue until 2028.

The tech­no­lo­gy by KIN­EXON Sports enables num­e­rous data-dri­ven appli­ca­ti­ons that bene­fit coa­ches, fans, media, and even the sci­en­ti­fic com­mu­ni­ty – all in real-time and ful­ly automated.

Exclusive Live Data for Coaches, Scientists, Media, and Fans

The part­ner­ship bet­ween the EHF and KIN­EXON Sports enables a wide ran­ge of appli­ca­ti­ons, revo­lu­tio­ni­zing both team per­for­mance ana­ly­sis and the fan experience:

  1. Enhan­ced Fan Expe­ri­en­ces: The EHF will levera­ge the data to share data-dri­ven insights and sta­tis­tics through its com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on chan­nels, both in are­nas and online. This will give fans uni­que per­spec­ti­ves on the dyna­mics and stra­te­gies of handball.
  2. Media Inte­gra­ti­on: Media out­lets will have access to a dedi­ca­ted app and an open inter­face, enab­ling them to incor­po­ra­te sel­ec­ted data into their live and post-match reporting.
  3. Advan­cing Sci­ence: The Uni­ver­si­ty of Ali­can­te, as the EHF’s part­ner uni­ver­si­ty, will gain access to the track­ing data to sup­port the EHF in addres­sing various sports sci­ence questions.
  4. Sup­port for Coa­ches: All par­ti­ci­pa­ting teams’ coa­ches will have access to the KIN­EXON Sports App, which pro­vi­des a wide array of real-time data on play­er load and per­for­mance. This offers inva­luable insights for trai­ning manage­ment and tac­ti­cal decision-making.

Joint Development Roadmap: Driving Innovation in Handball

The exten­ded part­ner­ship also fea­tures a visio­na­ry deve­lo­p­ment road­map aimed at advan­cing hand­ball through the stra­te­gic use of data. Over the upco­ming six EURO tour­na­ments, EHF and KIN­EXON Sports have com­mit­ted to explo­ring new use cases, crea­ting fur­ther syn­er­gies with EHF part­ners, and deve­lo­ping hand­ball-spe­ci­fic metrics and insights. The­se col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve efforts will enrich the sport for all stakeholders.
