Zalgiris Kaunas' Tech Offensive: Lithuanian Record Champions Enter the Season with Three Analytics Products from KINEXON Sports

Pan­athi­nai­kos BC Aktor’s impres­si­ve record includes six Euro­pean Cham­pi­on­ships, 40 Greek Cham­pi­on­ships, 20 Greek Cups, one Inter­con­ti­nen­tal Cup, and one Super Cup. Nota­b­ly, it is the only club to have won at least one title for 27 con­se­cu­ti­ve sea­sons, ear­ning it the distinc­tion of being the EuroLeague’s most suc­cessful Euro­pean team of this century. 

As the top team in the regu­lar sea­son of the Greek Bas­ket­le­ague, Pan­athi­nai­kos is set to make its twelfth appearance in the Euro­le­ague Final 4, which will be held in Ber­lin from May 24^th to 26^th. The team also advan­ced to the Greek Cup Final… bea­ting Paok in the semi­fi­nals. They are one of two clubs to win a Greek cham­pi­on­ship unde­fea­ted, and the most suc­cessful Greek club in terms of achie­ve­ments in Euro­pean competitions. 

Pan­athi­nai­kos will use the KIN­EXON PER­FORM IMU through the part­ner­ship. This mobi­le play­er track­ing, and load manage­ment sys­tem uses advan­ced AI tech­no­lo­gy and IMU sen­sors to mea­su­re play­ers’ per­for­mance and load metrics. It deli­vers pre­cise data on their move­ments and direc­tion­al chan­ges. Foun­ded in 1944, Žal­gi­ris Kau­nas holds the title of the oldest acti­ve bas­ket­ball club in Lithua­nia and ranks among the oldest in Euro­pe. Over the years, Žal­gi­ris has clai­med 42 cham­pi­on­ships, inclu­ding the legen­da­ry 1998 – 1999 Euro­Le­ague vic­to­ry against Kin­der Bolo­gna. Their list of cham­pi­on­ships includes 24 Lithua­ni­an Bas­ket­ball League titles, 11 Lithua­ni­an Cups, five Bal­tic Bas­ket­ball League cham­pi­on­ships, five Soviet Uni­on Natio­nal League cham­pi­on­ships, one Euro­Le­ague cham­pi­on­ship, one Euro­pean Cup Winner’s Cup, and one Inter­con­ti­nen­tal Cup.
