Best performance in sports driven by technology.
In professional sports, a few percentage points can make all the difference. That’s why data plays a fundamental role in getting and remaining among the best of the best.
2010 at Allianz Arena in Munich: Alexander Hüttenbrink and Oliver Trinchera witnessed the manual recording of player data. Convinced that this inefficient and error-prone process could be automated, they gave rise to KINEXON.
In 2014, Maximilian Schmidt joined founders Alexander and Oliver to launch KINEXON Sports. KINEXON Industries emerged as a second brand in 2015.
2020 – 2021
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, KINEXON demonstrated its agility and innovation by developing SafeZone, a real-time contact tracing solution tailored for sports environments. The technology was rapidly adopted by major U.S. sports organizations. Notably, the NBA used SafeZone to monitor player proximity during its 2020 season restart in Orlando, while the NFL made SafeZone mandatory for all teams and the league office in the 2020⁄21 season, ensuring health compliance throughout training and competition. Simultaneously, NCAA conferences such as the SEC, ACC, and Pac-12 implemented SafeZone to support the safe return of college sports, enabling athletes to compete safely amid strict health protocols.

The launch of our Computer Vision (CV) solution marks a major step forward, offering advanced player and ball tracking using camera-based systems for broader accessibility. For the first time, CV enables coaches to monitor performance / load metrics as well as shots to gain more insights on shooting performance under different conditions.
Our global client base surpassed 500 professional teams, reflecting the trust placed in KINEXON by the world’s top leagues, federations, and performance staff.
