5 Facts That (Probably) Nobody Knew About KINEXON Sports Teams

Ten years ago, KINEXON Sports embarked on a journey to revolutionize the game. What began as a bold idea in Munich’s iconic Allianz Arena has evolved into a global success story, empowering over 500 elite sports teams worldwide.

As we reflect on this incredible decade, here are five surprising facts about KINEXON Sports that showcase how far we’ve come — and where we’re headed next.

Fact #1: From 0 to 75 % – Our Mobile Systems Are on The Rise

When it comes to collecting player performance data, LPS is considered the gold standard. No system offers more, including the most accurate data in real time. The disadvantage: the system is permanently installed and therefore cannot collect data while traveling.

Until 2017, all KINEXON Sports teams were still limited to home use. However, with PERFORM IMU (for indoor sports) and PERFORM GPS Pro (for outdoor sports), mobile alternatives were quickly added —ith success! Around 75% of teams have at least one mobile system in use.

Fact #2: 1 in 7 Countries Has a Team Training With KINEXON

While our Go-to-Market strategy focuses primarily on Europe and the United States, KINEXON Sports has made its mark worldwide. Teams across the globe are embracing our solutions to gain daily performance insights and drive their success on the field.

Today, our reach spans continents, with teams in an impressive one out of every seven countries training with KINEXON Sports. This growing global adoption underscores the universal value of our technology in elevating athletic performance and optimizing team dynamics. The journey continues, and we’re excited to empower even more teams worldwide!

Fact #3: Handball Ambitions in the USA

Let’s be honest — handball probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of sports in the US. But that’s starting to change, thanks to the growing reputation of KINEXON PERFORM IMU. This cutting-edge technology has already helped top European handball teams reach peak performance, and its impact is now crossing the Atlantic.

In fact, there’s a handball team in Minnesota already implementing KINEXON PERFORM IMU! Could this be a sign that the US is gearing up for the Olympic Games in L.A. 2028? With handball included in the mix, a golden opportunity is waiting on the horizon.

Fact #4: Innovators, but Also Champions

What defines the success of KINEXON technology? At its core, it’s about enabling players to stay injury-free and perform at their absolute best. While it’s difficult to quantify exactly how many injuries have been prevented or how much of a performance boost our data has delivered, the results speak for themselves.

Here’s a measurable fact: In 2024, approximately 5% of KINEXON Sports customers won a title or an Olympic medal. That’s a testament to the power of actionable insights and cutting-edge performance analytics in driving teams toward excellence.

Fact #5: From Icons to Rising Stars: KINEXON Sports’ Growing Impact

KINEXON Sports’ most loyal customers aren’t just any teams — they’re some of the most recognized names in sports. From the five-time NHL Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins to Paris Saint-Germain Handball, which was crowned French champion eleven times between 2013 and 2024, to the Philadelphia 76ers, the tenth-oldest franchise in the NBA, KINEXON technology is trusted at the highest levels of competition.

And today? Our reach extends far beyond the elite. Teams from second and third leagues, youth academies, and performance centers are adopting KINEXON Sports solutions at an increasing rate. In the U.S., approximately 85% of NBA franchises already rely on KINEXON technology. Meanwhile, Europe is catching up, with 7 of the 18 Euroleague teams — the world’s second-strongest basketball league — now part of the KINEXON family.

We’re proud to continue innovating the game from the top tier to grassroots programs.
